Seniors celebrate start of Christmas
Seniors Bottle Trot golf not cancelled for first time in 3 years
The Seniors Section celebrated the start of Christmas with our traditional shotgun start Bottle Trot and Christmas lunch on Monday. For the first time in 3 years the weather was kind and we were able to play some golf before our lunch.

19 teams played a Texas Scramble over 16 holes, and the winners were:
1st - Kevin Record, Terry Dilks, John Harpin & David Johnson 45.4
2nd – Mike Lowther, Joe Hogan, Pat Polding & Peter Molloy 46.6 (winning on card play-off)
3rd – Alan Carter, Ian Smout, David Johnston & Mark Brooks 46.6

We had a very nice 2 course lunch in the Ambassador Suite (maybe for the last time) and had to rack our brains to answer Barry’s latest quiz. (Q1 - In 1965, which Christmas song did the astronauts play from space?). Worthy quiz winners were Mike Kneen, Colin Murthwaite, Alan Gibson, Tom Hartley, Jim Wood, Keith Wallbank & Dave Mackey.

Plenty of bottles won in the raffle.

We also took the opportunity to present the trophies to the winners of the Seniors Captain’s Winter Cup played in October:
Winner (+ best gross score): Stephen Mercer (photo), Runner up – Nigel Bracken

All trophies/prizes were presented by Seniors Vice Captain Alex Stables.

Thanks to all who attended on Monday and here’s wishing all Seniors and all club members a great Christmas.
