Greens Report – January 2026
The next phase of bunker work will begin on the 19th January. This work will take place on the 11th hole and will see all par 3 bunkers completed in the new style.
The estimated duration of this phase is three weeks; however, this is weather-dependent, and the hole will not be closed for the entire period.
We have also listened to feedback regarding some of the new bunkers where the liner has been struck during play. To address this, additional sand has been ordered and will continue to be reordered as needed to bring these bunkers to the correct depth and prevent this from happening again.
This will be a gradual process as we work our way around the course, with new sand added as the budget allows. That said, we are fully aware of the issue and are committed to resolving it as quickly as possible.
Maintenance Week – February 2026
During maintenance week, we will be targeting the top 25 mm of the greens to remove silt and organic matter that has built up over time. This build-up restricts oxygen movement and root development and can contribute to black layer and drainage issues.
To carry out this work, we will be hiring a GKB machine, which will allow us to effectively clean the upper surface of the greens. Once this process is complete, the greens will be top-dressed and fertilised to aid recovery and encourage healthy regrowth.
While this is an intensive process, it is essential for the long-term health and performance of the greens, and every effort will be made to minimise disruption to play.
General Course Tasks
In the lead-up to bunker renovations in January, we will continue to edge the older bunkers in preparation for the start of the season, as well as aerating other areas of the golf course, including fairways, aprons, worn areas, etc.
