Dear Members,
I would like to notify you of a delay in the scheduled maintenance week that was set to begin on Monday 16th February. Unfortunately, due to the extended rainfall, which has accumulated over 40mm since Friday 6th February, the Head Greenkeeper and I have concluded that it is too wet to operate the machinery on the greens at this time. Consequently, we have decided to initiate the scheduled maintenance work on Tuesday 3rd March. The planned activities will involve hollow tining on five of the eighteen greens. Weather permitting, the hollow tining will be carried out as soon as we experience a break in the rainfall. Following this, all greens will be scarified using a GKB vStrong machine, followed by verticutting, cutting, and a light top-dressing application. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding of the situation. I assure you that no one is more frustrated than the Head Greenkeeper; however, we have made this decision with the best interests of the golf course in mind
Regards
Ashley Ibbotson | Greens Chair
