Course Update

I'm pleased to say that we did have 12 holes open today and it was great to get members out on the course again. Assuming the weather plays ball, we will continue to have 12 holes open over the weekend. Please check the course status each day to confirm.

The Men's Fourball Better Ball competition will go ahead on Sunday over the 12 holes. Your Playing Handicap will be reduced to 12/18ths of what it would be for an 18 hole round, to reflect that we only have 12 holes open. The Pro Shop team will be able to tell you your Playing Handicap when you sign in. We have reduced the entry fee to £3.00 per person as well.

Men's Evening League

Please see below an email from Sean Francis about the Men's Evening League:

Dear Member,

I am writing to ask whether you would be interested in joining the Bognor Regis Golf Club Evening Squad for this year’s Evening League Foursomes Competition. The league is played home and away against our neighbouring clubs: Cowdray, Ham Manor, Hill Barn, Littlehampton, and Worthing.

We are aiming to build a strong squad capable of challenging for the trophy this year and in the seasons ahead.

All matches take place on Wednesday evenings from 4pm, between April 22nd and June 25th. We appreciate that this may be difficult for those still working, we can put you off last at about 4.50pm if that would help with times, we hope to assemble a large enough squad that even occasional availability is valuable. All we ask is that if you play one away match, you also make yourself available for at least one home match during the season.

As a foursomes format, the competition often favours lower handicap pairings, and many past winning teams have included several single figure players. However, with a maximum handicap of 20, we need players of all abilities to form strong partnerships, often built on familiarity, regular play together, or simply good on course chemistry.

While we have enjoyed some success in previous years, results have been inconsistent. With a more open approach this season, we are widening our selection pool to give ourselves the best chance of progressing further.

I am Sean Francis, Captain of the team, and I have asked Andrew Greig to join me as joint Captain for this season and possibly next (depending on how my health holds up), with a view to Andrew taking over thereafter.

If this appeals to you, please contact Andrew or myself and we will be delighted to add you to the squad.
