Course Update
I'm pleased to say that following 18mm of rain yesterday, the course is drying up well. As long as there is no heavy rainfall overnight, we expect to have 12 holes open tomorrow. Please check the course status in the morning for the latest update.
Men's Dinner & Summer Fourball Auction Night - The Ian Pettie Gavel - Friday 20th March
The sign-up sheet for the Men’s Dinner and Summer Fourball Auction, taking place on Friday 20th March, is now up on the notice board outside the Club Office. Members attending the dinner on the Friday evening will once again have the opportunity to take part in the Fourball Better Ball competition on the Saturday morning, which will be played with a 9 am shotgun start. As always, entry into the competition is restricted to those who attend the dinner the evening before.
The Golf Committee has agreed to introduce a new annual trophy for this event, beginning this year. Members will be aware of the very sad passing last year of former Club President, Captain, and long-time member, Ian Pettie. Ian was the auctioneer at the Men’s Dinner for many years and played a central role in the success and enjoyment of the evening.
It has therefore been agreed that the competition held the day after the dinner will be known as 'The Ian Pettie Gavel'. Ian’s family have very kindly donated a trophy for the event and will be present on the Saturday to present it following the golf.
If you would like to attend the dinner, please add your name to the table plan. Please also mark your menu choices and if you wish to play in the golf competition the next day.
In addition, we are pleased to confirm that a one-off memorial day in Ian’s memory will take place later in the year, which will be open to all members of the Club. Further details will be shared in due course.
Summer Knockout Competitions
Entries for the summer knockout competitions will go live on the app in the next couple of days. I will email members to let you know when the entries are open.

We will be showing the racing on Gold Cup day of the Cheltenham Festival live on the big screen in the clubhouse.
