Captains Charity 2025
A very successful year
2025 was truly a joint effort led by our Lady Captain, Sylvia Christelow, and Men’s Captain, Steve Jackson. Together — with fantastic support from our members and friends — they raised a staggering total of just over £8,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
A highlight of the year was the 100 Hole Challenge, which alone brought in more than £4,000. An incredible achievement from a single event! This is a real testament to the generosity of our club community and friends of AVRO GC — and, of course, no small part due to the amazing feet (and stamina!) of Peter Hale and Mark Hampshire.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and bravely found themselves in the Captain’s Bunkers along the way. Your contribution made a real difference.
