The Scratch team Winter League campaign has gone well through the qualifying stages and we now have a semi final match against Bruntsfield at home on Sunday 8th March.
Congratulations to Cammy Adam who has just had his first Top 10 finish as a professional on the DP World Tour. He finished tied 9th, in the Kenya Open this weekend with a 16 under par four round total. This gives him access straight into the South African Open this week. Since our annual dinner, I have attended the Royal Musselburgh and Mortonhall Annual Dinners. Mortonhall have re-introduced theirs after some 4-5 years of not holding one and I hope they are now back on course. Their ‘red- coated’ past captains of Mortonhall certainly enjoyed the night.
Martin Blencowe and I (plus wives) are getting ready for our trip to Australia in March and the Royal Canberra centenary celebrations. I have convinced Mrs Yuille that a game at Royal Melbourne and Barnnbougle Links are also part of the deal!! Not quite so sure how that one has been taken!
We have had a super response to date for the proposed motions in the upcoming AGM. We are really keen to have an outcome from this that is representative of as large a proportion of the society as possible. Again the link to the motions paper and online voting paper are attached, for those of you who have not yet responded and for those who do not intend to attend the AGM.
Online Postal Voting Form
You will all have received an online ‘Society match’ availability form through email. These matches are all primarily ‘social & handicap golf’ events and undoubtedly add a huge dimension to your experience as a Burgess member. We are always looking to introduce new faces.
As with the AGM voting paper, can I please ask you all to look at your diaries for the year ahead and include as many of the fixtures as possible. We will inform you ASAP of your selection.
