Saturday was Badgers Sett. It was great to see a bumper field of golfers enjoying qualifying conditions.
This trophy is awarded to the golfer who gets the most stableford points playing Badgers Sett twice.
After the first nine holes, it was a congested leaderboard with James Cardwell and Adrian Bloomer leading the way with 21 points.
You would think that playing the same nine again, the scores would improve; however, James slipped away and Adrian finished with 19 points on the back nine, giving a total of 39 points.
A special mention to Stu Flello with his 21 points on the back nine. However, the day belonged to Mark Hyland, who shot 19 points back nine to finish on 39 points and beat his vice captain on count back.
Mark had this to say
'I have played Badgers Sett a lot this winter, so this score doesn't come as a surprise to me. It is very sweet beating my right-hand man to take the first trophy of the year'.
The Champion of Foxes Run is this weekend, sign up via the BRS.... lets see who takes home the trophy this weekend.
