Hole and Hole Competitions
Rules
For Members playing in the Hole & hole competitions this year - we would like to remind you of the rules for this competition. Last year a number of ties were played significantly over the time limit, and we will be more strictly following these rules this year.

First thing that all players MUST do is put up their contact numbers on the draw sheet on the noticeboard. This should be a mobile number wherever possible.

THE RULES

The first named in the tie is the challenger - they must provide dates to their opponents - a MINIMUM of 3 dates must be offered - with at least one of these being a weekend date. The dates offered cannot be on consecutive days.

There is no 'tie book' beside the draw sheet any longer. It was only used for 2 ties in the past 3 seasons. We suggest you make contact by Text/WhatsApp (hence a mobile number preferred). This provides a 'trail' of communication in the event of any dispute over the tie.

If you have holidays planned - don't wait to make contact - even if you are not the challenger.

Ties must be played by the closing date - which is always on a Sunday

If you cannot play by the closing date - we will usually grant a small extension (a few days). BUT YOU MUST INFORM US that the tie has been scheduled. Email handicap@newbattlegolfclub.com to make it known or speak to John Lynch/Andy Pratt.

If you require any extension beyond 4 days you MUST have this agreed in advance by emailing the mailbox/speaking with John/Andy. If you do not pre-agree an extension - any result will be void, and the competition committee will make a decision on which player/team advances.

Handicap allowance for singles matches is 100% of the difference between the players course handicaps (white tees). Handicap allowance for foursomes matches is 50% of the difference of the combined handicaps of each team

Ties can be booked at any amount of time in advance, just ask at the pro-shop if this is prior to the tee sheet opening up 8 days before the tie date.
