With our first Summer Qualifying comp, no mats, fast, freshly-ironed greens and the annual - 'Who's going to get used to the grass first' quandary!
Congratulations go to Liam Brophy, who led the field with 37 points. Close behind were Neil Furlong and Steve Robinson, both finishing strongly on 36 points. Given the constant changes in the weather, these were excellent performances.
The weather wasn’t the only thing causing disruption. A noticeable number of players managed to sign into the wrong course across the apps and the PSI system. Until a short video guide is put together, the simplest solution remains the best one: if you sign into the wrong course or are unsure which one you selected, make sure you write the course you actually played on your card and add a brief note explaining the error. Or drop me a line and I'll talk you through - or show you - the correct process!
Seventy out of the Seventy-Nine starters correctly selected their tees yesterday, so the majority clearly can tell the difference between yellow, white and blue, even if technology temporarily got the better of a few.
Thank you to everyone who played and persevered through the changeable conditions. Completing the round was an achievement in itself, and it was good to see the usual competitive but friendly spirit on display throughout the day.
As we move to tomorrow's April Medal will these Stableford successes translate into a White Strokeplay win?!
Competitors will receive tomorrow's starting instructions shortly! So keep an eye on your inboxes!
