New Season Tee Switch
Update from New Handicap Secretary Graham Steele
Good Morning, Members,
For anyone not receiving the email that was sent out on Friday.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Handicap Secretary this year, taking over from Geoff Bowles who has done a superb job over the past years, I’m sure you will all agree, and join me in thanking Geoff for his efforts.
I will be switching the White and Yellow tee sets on from 4th April 2026 as we now have a measured course.
You will notice that the 7th tee is still on a temporary tee at the moment, we have been in contact with Durham County, and they have advised that this is acceptable for handicapping purposes so cards can be submitted for general rounds for handicap purposes and for initial handicaps.
This can be done via Howdidido or England Golf apps or by filling out a scorecard. If you do it manually you need to tell the proshop prior to playing to show your intent to play a round and submit the card for handicap purposes and then hand it back in to the proshop at the end of the round signed by both player and marker and dated with the relevant tee set ticked and write for handicap purposes in the competition box at the top.
If this is for your initial handicap you have to have 3 cards of 18 holes or 6 cards of 9 holes or any combination of 18 and 9 holes to achieve a minimum of 54 holes.
If you have any queries, you can contact me by email or text as below
Yours in Golf.
Graham Steele
