Whilst small in number, the enjoyment levels were high as Juniors from the age of 8 to 15, some played competitive golf for the first time and some played for the first time on a golf course.
Thanks go to Nigel Edwards, Paul Nicholson and George Holt for helping out on the course and to Steph Gordon and the Bar Staff, for ensuring they were fed when they finished their rounds. Some of the parents also walked around the course and helped with the support.
The younger group, who played off the Junior tees for 9 holes found it tough, but on all accounts enjoyed their day and the eventual winner was Harry Brizzell with a great score of 17 points, followed in second place by Blake Smith in 2nd and Jakob Mccann in 3rd.
In the older group, playing 18 holes off the138's it was a very close competition with the eventual winner being Max Colclough wit 34 points, beating Harry Curtis on countback on the back 3, with Corey Fahy in 3rd on 33 points.
Prizes were presented to all the winners a competitors in the Claret after the competition and everyone was keen to play again, so the future looks bright for Junior Golf at Wychwood Park.
Maybe a small start, but from little acorns great oak trees grow........
