Club News
What's been happening
Dear member

The season is definitely upon us! The lovely sunshine has certainly contributed to the club being very busy these past couple of weeks. The weekly competition's have seen a great turnout and evening tee times have been full, perhaps The Masters has inspired us all!

Work on the course has been constant, despite the dry spell and the hollow coring work, the course has still had a great response from members and visitors. As many of you would have noticed, our green staff have spent long hours cutting and clearing the trees near the 11th tee box in order to improve daylight and airflow to reach the 11th tee. This will prevent the tee box from getting as wet.

SCRATCH TEAM
A huge congratulations to our scratch team for reaching the Elite Amateur Golf League plate final. On Sunday 29th March the team travelled to Clandon Regis Golf Club and came up just short in the final, however this was still a great achievement for the club. In this Nationwide competition, the team began in a league of 5 clubs and only the top 2 progressed to knock out stages, followed by numerous knock out wins to make it all the way to the final. Well done team!

COMPETITIONS
The competitive season has officially begun, so just to refresh everyone's memories and to make new members aware, YOU MUST HAVE PLAYED 3 QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS TO BE ELIGABLE TO PLACE IN MAJORS WITHIN THE PAST 365 DAYS. You can still play in the competitions if you have not managed to complete this however you will receive no prize money. For the Major Knock Out competitions this is also the case. If you have entered either the Summer Foursomes, The Putter or the Scratch Knock out, by your first match you must have completed three qualifiers.

PITCH MARKS
Unfortunately over the past few days we have seen a large amount of pitch marks on the greens that have not been repaired. I understand that with the sanding on the greens it can be slightly harder to notice your pitch mark at first, although it will only take a few seconds of your time to search for where your ball landed, you may also notice a few others while you look! Pitch marks that are not repaired in 2 hours can take two weeks to fully recover. Please ensure that you repair your pitch marks, and if possible repair any others you notice while you are on the green. This is greatly appreciated.

EVENTS
We have hosted a couple different large golf days in the past few weeks, first of which being the Deano Testimonial Day supported by Bedford Blues Rugby Club followed by The MK DONS Golf Day yesterday. Both of which were a huge success and both groups have requested to return in the future. These days support the club in many ways, generating income for us and giving us great exposure. Thank you to our members that usually play on the days we have hosted these events so that we could clear the course for the afternoon, we really appreciate your understanding.
