Gothard Trophy
Success for Royal Jersey Juniors
Jacob Townsend won the Gothard Trophy which was held at Royal Jersey on Sunday 17th May. The field was restricted to 27 and only those with handicaps below 18 were able to enter.
The competition was played as a medal in breezy conditions.
Jacob had a gross 72 winning by one shot from Aiden Wilson with 73 and Oliver Bourke third with 77.
The competition counts as the qualifier for the Island Match play with the eight lowest gross scores counting. Also qualifying were William Aikenhead 78, William Stratford 79, Oliver Brown 81 and Ben Carvalho 81 meaning seven of the eight qualifiers are from Royal Jersey.
