Summary
Frinton Links enjoyed a busy Bank Holiday Monday with the Arnold Quick Salvers Mixed Foursomes competition. Father and daughter duo, Tig and Luna Tanner emerged as the winners with 38 stableford points, beating Gary Cattermole and Sheran Harding on countback.

The Ernest Graham Trophy, one of Frinton Links’ knockout competitions, produced a thrilling finale as Nigel Jackson emerged victorious after a closely fought playoff against Michael Redden, eventually sealing the win on the 22nd hole following a superb contest between the two players.

The Over 55’s team were in action on Tuesday 12th May in their match against Romford GC, with five members representing the club at home and five playing away. Despite a few late withdrawals and some last-minute team changes, Frinton rose to the challenge superbly, securing a hard-fought 6-4 victory in an excellent team performance.

The seniors section held their Spring Bonanza stableford competition on 13th May, with 18 players braving mixed weather conditions. Chris Vine took first place with an excellent 37 points with Malcom Boucher securing second place with 35 points. Jeff Morgan came in third with 33 points winning on countback.

Friday evening saw a fantastic Adult & Junior competition. On the Havers Course, Tig and Ziggy Tanner claimed victory with an impressive 20 points, while on the Kirby Course Max and Chris Shelton took top honours with an excellent 25 points.

Our juniors enjoyed a great result on Saturday in their Youth Shield match at home against Clacton, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory. A smashing team performance from our young players, who represented the club brilliantly to earn a well-deserved win.

The Kirby Junior Gaythorne Cup took place on Saturday. Oliver Proctor claimed the trophy with an impressive 25 points, narrowly edging out Grayson Stringer who finished close second on 24 points.

The Davies Trophy took place on Saturday, with Tek Emirali emerging as the winner after a fine performance scoring 38 points to beat a field of 45 members and claim the title.

Sunday saw our Frinton Links Men enjoy an excellent victory in the Leslie Wood Plate, defeating Risebridge Golf Club 6-2 in a superb team performance. A special mention goes to junior Tyler Diplock, who made his Leslie Wood debut and rose to the occasion brilliantly securing a valuable point for the team.
