Dear Member,
Open Week 2026 is drawing closer, and we hope that you are looking forward to a great week of golf. With the exception of the 2-Ball Scrambles (Saturday 4th July), which is completely full, there are still plenty of tee-times available in the other competitions. Entry forms can be obtained from the Pro-shop and Club office.
Qualifying Rounds (Note One)
‘As agreed at the last Annual General Meeting, a change has been implemented to the rules concerning eligibility for all Trophy events. Effective immediately, all participants must complete a minimum of 12 (Men) 6 (Women) qualifying rounds within the 12 months prior to the competition date.
We encourage all members to ensure they meet these criteria to enjoy participation in these prestigious events. Please refer to the HowDidiDo app or contact the pro shop if you have any questions regarding your qualifying rounds.’

Volunteer Request
As always, we are very grateful for our members support during Open Week and we are asking for volunteers to offer a few hours of their time as starters and marshals. A sign-up sheet has been posted in the foyer (copy attached) and if any member is available, and willing, on any of the competition days then please sign up. We would like to extend a huge thank you in advance to all those who do.
In the words of the Lord Kitchener Poster ‘Your Club Needs You’
A meal will be arranged for all volunteers following open week as a thank you and allow you the opportunity to provide feedback to the organising committee
Open Week Presentation & Entertainment
As a fun start to our Open Week this committee, in conjunction with Love2Cater, have organised a Drag Bingo evening on Saturday 27th June from 7pm with the Kent Drag Queens. Tickets for this event are selling fast so please see Alison to book your table. Tickets are priced at £15 per person.
Food will be available on the night and can be purchased through the Love2Cater team at an additional cost.
As a committee we are trying something different this year!
We have deliberately made the 2-Ball scramble a shotgun start on Saturday 4th July. The presentation for all competitions of Open Week will take place in the clubhouse as soon as all the competitors have finished.
We will only be presenting the winning prize for each competition and all other prizes can be collected from the clubhouse on the day or from the Pro-shop thereafter.
A fantastic band, As Is Now, have been booked to play from 2:30pm in the clubhouse to finish off Open Week with a bang and a boogie!
Preston Cup
The 36-hole Preston Cup competition is being held on Sunday 7th June and entry and payment via on line sign up.
We will be looking for volunteers for the Preston Cup. A separate volunteer sign up sheet will be published in the coming days.
