This was a drawn event, which meant that players had the chance to play with other members old and new. We saw a couple of new faces taking part which is always good to see as we want to encourage as many new players as possible to get involved.
In what was a very heated battle in every sense of the word, there was a tie for 1st place with 3 players scoring an amazing 38 points. All effectively scoring just under their handicaps which is always a sign of good golf. On count back the tie was resolved, with David Kear pipping Darren Edwards and Peter Dela, who both scored well. Congratulations to David.
The winner was celebrated in person and received the trophy from the Club Captain and last year’s winner. As well as in person applause David was congratulated virtually by Leonardo de Caprio, invisible raised glasses, and a pint of Guinness.
Thank you everyone who took part.
Put a note in your diaries and look out for comms for the next major and key club event:
- Brimble Trophy (medal Strokeplay), 14th June
- Captain’s Charity Day, 28th June
Try to stay hydrated over the next few days in this heatwave and see you soon at the club.
