The annual Vets vs Rest of the Club fixture delivered another memorable chapter this year, with the Vets producing a commanding performance to secure a 9–4 victory.
Despite an unexpected last-minute withdrawal, the morning began with quick reshuffling to ensure every player had a match. Thanks to the flexibility and good spirit of everyone involved, the day ran smoothly and no one was left without a partner — a real testament to the strength of the club community.
On the course, the Vets were in fine form, recording 8 wins and 2 halved matches, giving them a well-earned total of 9 points. The Rest of the Club battled hard, picking up 3 wins and 2 halves, but the Vets proved too strong on the day.
This result also brings a touch of revenge, after the Vets narrowly lost last year’s tightly contested match. The win was celebrated with plenty of smiles and good humour, rounding off what was, once again, a thoroughly enjoyable club occasion.
