Losses, Wins and Greensomes
Unfortunately, ECGC got knocked out the 2nd round of the British Mixed Pairs comp, losing to Newbury & Crookham 3-2, the final match being decided on the 19th green! Thanks to Clive, Cathy, Jean, Gordon, Jackie S, Phil J, Hugo, Heather and Katy, maybe next year we'll make it to round 3.
The disapppointment was made up for the following week with a 4-2 win over Sunningdale Heath at home. Greensomes format was decided on and ECGC rose to the occasion thanks to Peter HC, Steve, Winnie, Katy, Jean, Wingnut, Jackie B, Pete S, Les, Shyam and Rick. Really enjoyable fixture with an away match on the cards for 2027.
Finally, 28 golfers showed up on the last day of May for our Anniversary Greensomes, the weather had cooled a bit, but the golf was red hot. We saw many rounds of 36 and above scores, but as the picture shows, our runners up on 44 pts were Janet & Jimi, but our standout winners were our debutant Nikki Basham with Heather scoring a whopping 48 points. Congrats to the winners and to all who turned out raising £140 for the Captain's charities.
