As we move through another busy golfing season, based on some concerns raised recently, we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few important aspects:
Pace of Play
One of the most important responsibilities we all share is maintaining a good pace of play. Slow play can have a significant impact on the enjoyment of others on the course.
Please remember to:
- Be ready to play when it is your turn;
- Keep up with the group in front, rather than simply staying ahead of the group behind;
- Limit time spent searching for lost balls and play a provisional ball when appropriate;
- Move promptly between shots and holes;
- If your group is falling behind and there is a clear gap ahead, please take steps to regain position;
Courtesy to fellow golfers is a fundamental part of the game.
If your group is unable to maintain pace and a faster group is waiting behind, please invite them to play through at the earliest safe opportunity. This simple act of consideration helps keep the course flowing smoothly and enhances the experience for everyone.
Members should not feel reluctant to offer a faster group the opportunity to pass, nor should faster groups feel uncomfortable accepting such an invitation when appropriate.
Please continue to take pride in our course by:
- Repairing pitch marks;
- Replacing divots where appropriate;
- Raking bunkers after use;
Golfing reminders:
- Do not litter the course, take it home or put it in a bin
- If you like to bring your dog with you for a walk, ensure it remains on the lead at all times.
- Observe the dress code, suitable golfing attire.
- At the 8th & 11th holes, please wait until the golfers in front have tee’d off on the 9th & 12th tee to avoid any potential injuries (adhere to signage);
- When playing the 1st and the 7th holes, please wait till you hear the bell before you drive.
- Please DO NOT try and cut in at holes close to the clubhouse, i.e. 13&14 when it is not suitable to do so.
Our Club is built on the principles of respect, sportsmanship, and consideration for others. By maintaining a good pace of play, showing courtesy on the course, caring for our facilities, we can ensure that golf remains enjoyable and fair for all members.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
