Under 30s Championship
Stuart Loch beats brother Adam in Under 30s Championship Final.
In the battle of the brothers it was Stuart who took the honours with a victory on the last against Adam.  Despite the gale force wind the brothers played some great golf.    Although Stuart was probably just favourite, it was Adam who started better and took the lead on the second with a solid par. Stuart looked out of it at the third after putting his tee shot out of bounds but hit a superb third almost stone dead.  Adam failed to get up and down so hole halved but Adam didn't have to wait long to go 2 up, thanks to a superb birdie on 4.  After pars at 5, a bad 3 putt from Stuart at 6 had Adam 3 up and that’s how it remained after 9.  Adam was 1 over par for the front 9, superb golf in the conditions.    Adam’s lead was reduced to two with a conceded birdie at 11 then a 15 footer for birdie from Stuart at 12 cut the lead to 1.  Adam hit a great tee shot at 13 and par was enough to go 2 up again.  Stuart had to hole tricky par saving putts on 14 and 15 to avoid going further behind.  The 16th was a bit scrappy with Stuart winning the hole with a 5.  Stuart almost drove the 17thgreen and with Adam just failing to hole his par putt it was suddenly all square.  A fantastic drive at 18 which finished on the fringe of the green put Stuart in control.  Adam couldn’t get up and down to put any pressure on so Stuart took the title with a conceded birdie.    It was hard luck on Adam who played very well but a great finish from Stuart.  Well done to both brothers for a great match played in fantastic spirit.
