Michael Cassaly takes top qualifier with 43 points! The early field enjoyed good weather before it took a nasty turn for the worst and the late players struggled to complete their rounds in the latest stableford qualifiers. A total field of 109 players. In the Division One competition Michael Cassaly took the honours with 43 Points two points clear of William Heeps in second place. Michael was out in 20 points before returning in 23 points which included birdies at holes 4, 9, 12 and 16. A fine scratch 34 shots on the way home. William was out in 19 points and came back in 22. William carding birdies at holes 8 & 12. Michael won £11.70 for first place in the sweep and William picked up £6.30. Congratulations guys. In Division 2, Captain Brian Rooney took top spot with 42 Points giving him a one point advantage over second placed Colin Fullerton on 41 Points. Brian went out in 22 points and came home in 20 with birdies at holes 3, 9 & 10. A great effort around the tough turn. Colin went out in 19 points and return with 22 points. The card included birdies at 12, 15 & 17. Brian won £26.65 for first place in the sweep and Colin picked up £14.35. In Division 3, David Galloway took top spot with 40 Points finishing one point clear of John Wright in second. David went out in 18 points before returning in 22 points with 6 net birdies and a gross birdie at the 6th hole. John went out in 17 points and returned in 22. The card containing 8 net birdies. David won £24.70 for first place in the sweep and John picked up £13.30. Five players birdied the 15th hole, Alan Mark, Stuart Tidy, Archer Wilson, Colin Fullerton and David Gilmour each collecting £15.52 in the “Two’s” sweep. Steven Stanton also had a birdie two but was not entered not the sweep. Qualifiers for the final were.
