Captain's Day Note, Open Sweepstake, Sunday Carvery, Purley Ball Spotters
Captain's Day Note With under 4 weeks to go until my Captain’s Day I’d like to ask a favour please. This years Captain’s charity is Parkinson’s UK, who do vital work in research, and also support people with Parkinson’s disease across the UK. As in previous years we will be running a raffle on the day. If you can’t play on the day they will also be available to purchase behind the bar at £5 a strip. During the evening doo I’ll auction off a few 4 ball vouchers which have been generously donated to the club (for example for West Byfleet GC and Littlehampton GC). If you are in a position to donate a prize or auction lot please drop them into the office as soon as possible. If you are a local business and wish to donate a prize, service, or a little funding so we can purchase prizes on your behalf, it will be very gratefully received and your business will be promoted on the day. You can email me at keingkev100@gmail.com for further details. I’ll update you further in the next few days about the format for the day, how to enter, and the exciting line up for the captains evening bash (a poster will be going up in the public areas on Monday) but in the meantime I sincerely hope you’ll join me, Nicola and our family on the day and into the evening, and share a glass or two with us on this special day. Kevin Holton Club Captain Open Championship Sweepstake Peter Kay (Seniors Captain) is running an Open Championship sweepstake competition along similar lines to the Masters one that we run annually. The full details are on the information sheet attached with today's latest news email. Email your selections to sec@bognorgolfclub.co.uk Sunday Carvery - 12th July We have a Sunday carvery taking place on Sunday 12th July. Please contact the bar staff if you would like to book a table. Purley Trophy - Ball Spotters Required We have the Purley Trophy (36 hole Scratch Open) taking place on Saturday 11th July. I'm delighted to say we have a full field of 63 entrants. To help with the pace of play on the day, it would be great if a few members could volunteer to act as ball spotters for a few hours throughout the day. If you would like to volunteer, please reply to this email to let me know. Thank you in advance.
