The Over 70s Championships took place on Thursday 2 July, with competitors contesting an 18-hole Medal competition played with a 95% handicap allowance. The championship produced some excellent golf, with Sue Phillips claiming the Gross Championship title after posting a winning score of 96. Sue's consistent play throughout the round saw her finish ahead of Anne Laver, who secured the runner-up position with a score of 98. In the Nett Championship, Julia Crook delivered an outstanding performance, carding a superb nett score of 61 to take the title. Gross winner Sue Phillips also featured strongly in the nett competition, finishing as runner-up with a score of 63.
