The final of the Team 3x6 Competition was played in the late afternoon of July 8th. This competition involves a series of matches consisting of 6 holes of 4BBB, 6 holes of Greensomes and 6 holes of individual match play (2 matches in parallel). Ostensibly a Winter competition, this much delayed match was played in 30 Celsius, with the ground so hard that even the grubbiest of shots bounded down the fairways. The result was a 6 points to 2 victory for Team Woodward (represented by Phil Woodward and Brian Richardson) against Team Paramo (represented by Joe Kemp and Harry Paramo). The golf was of a high standard by all players, and much closer than the score suggests. Congratulations to the winning team, which also includes Liam Elmer and Malcolm Simmons, and better luck next year to the runners-up, whose team also includes Tony Paramo and Adrian Robertson. Thanks also to all the other teams who took part. This format is very much enjoyed by those who play it, and the competition will start again in the Autumn, and more typically concludes in early Spring of following year. Watch out for the call for teams, and come and join the fun.
