RELIEF FROM GOOSE DUNG
New Temporary Local Rule from 11th July
THIS BECOMES OPERATIONAL FROM SATURDAY 11th July 2026 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Model Local Rule F-12 In the interest of fair play, when a players ball lies in the general area, and the lie, stance or intended area of swing are affected by dung from Geese or other waterfowl at the player's option, the dung may be treated either as: 1. A loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or 2. Ground under repair from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1 [When taking relief a player must drop within one club length from the nearest point of full relief, no nearer to the hole.] [If dung is found on the putting green, the player may also use the hand, towel or similar to remove the dung from the line of play. If doing so improves the line of play or other conditions affecting the stroke, there is no penalty under Rule 8.1a.] P. Jackson Course and Rules Secretary 11th July 2026
