The dust has now settled on the Club Championships, and I am delighted to confirm that, with superb rounds of 74 and 71, David Ramsay is our 2026 Club Champion. It was a fantastic two days of golf, with 86 competitors taking part and facing two very different sets of challenges. The course provided its usual stern test – thanks to Gavin and the team for presenting it so well – while the weather did its best to join the competition on Saturday with some challenging winds. No doubt, a few scorecards attracted some “interesting” explanations back on the clubhouse patio! Despite the varying conditions, the standard of golf was excellent (although a new individual 5th hole score of 14 was kindly created by an unnamed member!). It was great to see so many members competing and enjoying one of the highlights of the club calendar. A big thank you to all those who stayed to watch the final group come in. Your humour, stories, and, most importantly, your respect and support for the players in those final few groups were greatly appreciated. Congratulations to David on a well-deserved victory, and also to Nathan Watmough on a fantastic nett victory. A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported the event, and helped make this year’s Club Championships such a success. Roll on next year’s challenge – hopefully with a little less help from the weather!
