Course Update
Course Update
Dear Member, Course Update Due to the current spell of exceptionally hot and dry weather, the golf course is under considerable stress. Although our greenkeeping team has maintained its usual irrigation programme, with extended watering of the greens where possible, the prolonged lack of meaningful rainfall combined with sustained high temperatures is placing significant pressure on the playing surfaces. To protect the long-term health of the course, we have had to prioritise irrigation on the greens. As a result, the teeing areas are not currently in the condition we would like them to be. We appreciate your understanding and will resume more extensive watering of the tees as soon as weather conditions allow. To help preserve the condition of the fairways during this challenging period, members are encouraged to use fairway mats for casual golf. While their use is not compulsory, playing from mats will help minimise wear and aid the recovery of the fairways until conditions improve. Temporary No Smoking Policy Due to the exceptionally dry conditions and the increased risk of fire, a temporary No Smoking policy is being introduced across the entire golf course with immediate effect. This measure is being taken to protect the course, surrounding wildlife, and the safety of all members, guests, and staff. We kindly ask everyone to refrain from smoking anywhere on the course until further notice. The restriction will be lifted once conditions improve. Course Manager Dan and the Greenkeeping Team would like to thank all members for their understanding and cooperation. By making these small adjustments, we can all play our part in protecting the course and ensuring it remains in the best possible condition for everyone to enjoy. We appreciate your continued support and will keep members informed as conditions change. Thank you for your cooperation.
