Chaps, What a fantastic weekend for our flagship event. The sun was out, the temperatures were high, and the course certainly gave us all a challenge — but that didn’t stop a record-breaking 80 players from taking part. Brilliant turnout and great energy across both days. Now to our champion. A lad who has now matched a long-standing club record, joining former member Jamie Clorley with an incredible five wins. This year he went about things calmly and confidently, producing two superb rounds and finishing an astonishing 13 shots clear — something I’ve never seen in my time as comp sec. Shooting 73 on both days in those conditions is nothing short of outstanding. Huge congratulations to our 2026 Club Champion, Mr David J Edwards. Alongside the main event, our nett competition was once again hotly contested. This year’s winner is a familiar face — a former captain and long-standing member who continues to represent the club brilliantly. Congratulations to Mr Ray Cornwall.
