Congratulations to Paul Necus and Bob Dranse who won the Hollingbury Park Seniors Julius Kelly Foursomes Trophy today. In very windy conditions and on bone dry fairways, Paul and Bob combined superbly to score 42 points and win at a canter, five points clear of second place. Foursomes is not the easiest of formats, especially in the current conditions, so this was a remarkable performance. Highlights included a gross birdie on the 5th (that was a net Albatross!) for 5 points, and gross birdies on the 10th and 16th. After the round, Bob kindly shared the secret of his golfing success with me: only using five clubs. It makes shot decision making a lot simpler! Well done to Mark and Bobby for their 37 points to take the Runners Up spot, while Brian and Norman claimed the third spot on countback from Tony and George with 34 points. It’s really enjoyable varying the formats we play during the Summer months and the re-introduction of some of our trophies has made these comps extra special. Thank you to everyone who competed.
