After an outstanding series of performances throughout the group stages, the team finished top of their league, earning a deserved place in the knockout rounds. Their reward was a challenging two-legged quarter-final against Bridgnorth, where they once again demonstrated the determination, skill and team spirit that have been the hallmark of their season. Across both legs, the team produced some exceptional golf to overcome Bridgnorth and, in doing so, reach the semi-finals for the first time in many years. It is a tremendous achievement and one that everyone at the club can be immensely proud of. A special mention must go to the father-and-son pairing of Al and Mike Beasley, who held their nerve brilliantly with the tie hanging in the balance. In a thrilling finish, they battled to a 1-up victory, securing the crucial point that sealed the quarter-final win over Bridgnorth. It was a composed, courageous performance under pressure and a fitting example of the team's determination. Much of the team's success is thanks to the outstanding leadership of Howard Birch, whose dedication, organisation and encouragement have been instrumental throughout the campaign. Howard has managed the team superbly, creating a fantastic team spirit and ensuring every player has contributed when called upon. Congratulations to every member of the Men's Handicap Team on a magnificent achievement.
