Hawkstone Park Golf Club was delighted to welcome an outstanding field of talented young golfers for the 2026 Junior Open, competing for the prestigious Don Lloyd Trophy. Blessed with excellent course conditions on the Championship Course, the event produced some exceptional golf and a memorable day for everyone involved. A special thank you goes to Jane Lloyd, who kindly presented the prizes in memory of Don Lloyd, and to Ashley Chesters, whose continued support of the event is greatly appreciated. Ashley once again donated some fantastic prizes and took on competitors in the ever-popular Beat the Professional Challenge on the par-3 9th hole. The standard of golf from both the boys and girls was superb, with some outstanding Stableford scores recorded throughout the day. Girls - 1st: Amber Thorp (Saltford Golf Club) – 39 points - 2nd: Isabella Smith (Shifnal Golf Club) – 37 points Boys - 1st: Alifie Humphreys (Hawkstone Park Golf Club) – 47 points (better back 9) - 2nd: Laurie Handcock (Hennerton Golf Club) – 47 points - 3rd: James Hawkins (Saltford Golf Club) – 44 points (better back 9) - 4th: Louis Barker (Saltford Golf Club) – 44 points Special Competitions - Nearest the Pin (17th Hole): Bobby Brightwell (Astbury Golf Club, Congleton) – 4 feet - Longest Drive: Nathan Hamer (Junior Captain, Hawkstone Park Golf Club) – 316 yards Beat the Professional Five players managed the impressive feat of beating Ashley Chesters on the par-3 9th hole. Their names were entered into a prize draw, with Dylan Walters of Hawkstone Park Golf Club being selected as the lucky winner.
