Tom takes the title
Tonight saw the final of the Irvine Links. Tom Loy was up against Ally Berry seeking to take the honours for this prestigious trophy.
Tom took an early lead on the 2nd hole and never looked back for the rest of the match, as he ran out a comfortable 6&5 winner.
The Irvine Links has now been added to the other significant competitions which Tom has won in recent years, backing up his Club Championship win this year, with the Strokeplay Championship in 2023.
Congratulations to Tom and commiserations to Ally on a fine week.
A huge thank you to Greg Cathie for all his work organising the Ian Lamb Memorial strokeplay, the Links matchplay and for securing the awarding of Ayrshire Order of Merit points. We are encouraged that this event will continue to get stronger in the forthcoming years.
