The last chance to qualify saw some terrific scoring and a field of 117 taking part in the final Kirk Qualifier. Two scores of 65 fighting out for top qualifier which was taken by Gordon More. In the Division One competition saw Ian Stewart claim the spoils with a four shot victory over Jordan Mackinnon. Jordan edging out Steven Campbell on a card count back. Ian going out in 36 and returning in a fine one under par 34 helped with a birdies at 4, 8, 11 & 15. Jordan was out in 38 before returning in 37 with a birdie at hole 7. Steven Campbell missing out on second spot due to a costly double bogey at the 16th Ian won £13.65 for first place in the sweep and Jordan picked up £7.35 for second spot. Well played. Division 2 saw an epic battle and Gordon More and Terry McCormack carding net 65’s. Gordon taking the honours on a card count back. Gordon was out in 42 before returning in a fine one over 36 helped along with eight net birdies and only one blemish on the back nine at the hard 13th. Terry was out in a wonderful 35 with eight pars and birdie at the 8th before returning in 39 with a double bogey at the 15th proving so costly. Gordon won £33.80 for first place and Terry won £18.20 for second spot. Div. 2 Countback details for 1st place were. Gordon More 65 30 19 10 1st Terry McCormack 65 35 23 12 2nd Superb golf gentlemen! Division 3, saw Philip Cowley take the win with gross 97 net 69 beating William (Billy) Deerness by a two shots. Philip was out in 56 and returned in 15 shots fewer with 41 shots! Card helped with a gross birdie at the 12th, a net eagle and 4 net birdies. William went out in 47 before returning in 42 shots for gross 89 net 71. The card having 6 net birdies. Philip won £20.80 for first place in the sweep and William picked up £11.20 for second place. No fewer than eight players managed to record a birdie on the 15th hole and each take home £10.50 in the 2’s sweep.
