Play the ball as it lies on the practice green b. Take free relief at the nearest point of relief c. They can choose to do a or b Last Week’s Answer The correct answer is b, take free relief at the nearest point of complete relief. The practice green is always a wrong green from which relief must be taken.(Rule 13.1f) This Week’s Question Last Week’s Answer The correct answer is C, 2 shot penalty. Rule 5.5b says ‘After completing a hole, but before making a stroke to begin another hole, a player must not make a practice stroke. Exception, a player may practice putting or chipping on the green of the hole just completed or on the teeing area of the next hole.’ This week’s question: In stroke play, player A concedes player B’s short putt and knocks the ball away. Player B lifts the ball and plays from the next tee, what is the ruling? a. Player B is disqualified b. Player B gets 2 penalty strokes c. Player A and B both get 2 penalty strokes Irrigation Meeting A reminder that there is a Meeting to discuss the potential Irrigation of the golf course, this is a meeting for all members to discuss the full options for improvement, including the financial implications and funding options. To all those that have responded and stated that they will be attending, thank you, as there are so many I was not going to reply to you all individually. I would encourage to attend; this project could have a major impact on the club’s future. Divot Bags We ask that all players going onto the course take a divot bag with them, thank you to all those that do. With that in mind we also ask that you return them once you have finished playing. The current stock of these bags is depleting daily, there are some that are too idle to return them to the holder, and leave them in the car park, or indeed some that end up taking them home, for the bags never to return. Although they are not overly expensive, buying in bulk will still have a financial impact on the club. The club asks you to use them, so we provide them, or do we ask you to purchase your own? Have a good week, happy golfing. Mark Coltman Club Manager
