Dear Member, It has been brought to the attention of this committee that not all members are returning their scores and cards after completing a competition round of golf. In some cases, members are reported to have walked off the course if the round is not going their way. This practice is not allowed as it gives a false reflection of ability and leads to players being in possession of an incorrect and non reflective handicap index. **If you enter a competition, it is a competition requirement that you return your score to the touchscreen computer and return your scorecard to the box in the Spike Bar.** If your card is incomplete, please clearly write the reason for it being incomplete on the top of the card. If you need to leave the course, please mark the reason why you have left the course on your scorecard and ask one of your playing partners to return your card to the box. If you fail to complete a hole in a medal round, please continue to mark your scorecard for all of the holes that you do complete (as you would do in a stableford round) before returning your card in the usual way. The competition result will still show an N/R but your score will be uploaded to your record with an adjustment made for the hole(s) that you failed to complete. Going forward, The Handicap & Competitions Committee intend to closely monitor no returns of scorecards. **Any member found not to have returned their score and scorecard will have a penalty score added to their playing record.** We realise that sometimes cards are not returned due to nothing more than an oversight. It is possible that you arrive at home to find your card still in your pocket.
