September 2 – Yorkshire Seniors 3rd Division Team Championship The Bedale team of Mike Greenwood, Bill Barclay and Steve Gledhill finished “mid table” in the Yorkshire Seniors 3rd division team championship held at Hull GC. This is a scratch event, for seniors over 55, in teams of 3 players, with all scores counting. There are 27 teams in each division, with the leading 9 being “promoted” to the 2nd division, and the bottom 9 being “relegated”. We finished in 14th place, so will play in 3rd division next year. They were only 6 shots away from promotion. Well done! September 3 – Thursday Stableford 1st Darren Forrest 33 pts (countback required) ; 2nd Al Aurelius 34 pts (countback required) ; 3rd John McAuley 34 pts (countback required) ; 4th Andy Jamieson 34 pts (countback required). September 3 – Rabbits Dalesgateforth Trophy Dalesgateforth Trophy - final leg at Harrogate. Scores were Horsforth 223 (623) Harrogate 259 (744) & Bedale 243 (753). Thanks go to every rabbit who’s played in this competition, to win another key competition and retain another Trophy is brilliant. The Harrogate course looked great & played well, greens were deceptively slower than we’ve played recently as the showers came. Great hospitality again was much appreciated. So a battling team performance this time with top scorers, Jimmy McNamara 39, Jonny Weighell 33 Keith Bateman & Ian Housby 32, making the difference.
