Seniors Jim Catt Results 79 men played in the Seniors Jim Catt Trophy yesterday. Congratulations to Ron Stevens for winning the competition with 40 points on countback from Sean Francis and Joe Flanagan. The full results are attached with today's latest news email. Member Work Parties - Volunteers Needed We are looking for volunteers to help with two member work parties over the coming weeks. These are a great opportunity to lend a hand with some important work around the course, and we would be very grateful for any time members are able to give. Pine Cone Clearance – Monday 28th September With the course closed for the day for greens maintenance, we would like to take the opportunity to carry out a pine cone clearance without the interruption of golf being played. We are looking for volunteers to help rake pine cones and other debris into piles around the course, which the greenkeeping team can then collect later in the week. As the course will be closed all day, there is no set start or finish time for this work party. Members are welcome to come along at any time during the day and give as much or as little time as they are able. We would just ask that you let us know in advance if you are planning to help, so that we have an idea of numbers. Fairway Divoting – Monday 5th October - 5 pm - 7 pm Our second work party will be an evening of fairway divoting. Last year we had around 30 members volunteer and, with so many people helping, we were able to divot all of the fairways within the two-hour window. We are hoping for another good turnout this year. The greenkeeping team will be on hand throughout the evening to keep everyone supplied with buckets of divot and seed mix. Following the work party, we will head back to the clubhouse for sausage and mash as a thank you to everyone for giving up their time.
