Last week, Doncaster Golf Club was delighted to welcome 23 Past Lady Captains who joined our current Lady Captain for the annual Past Captains Competition and Lunch. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces enjoying a lovely day on the course and catching up with friends. A special mention goes to Mary Cowells, our earliest attending Past Captain, who served as Lady Captain in 1981. The day featured both 18-hole and 9-hole competitions, with some excellent golf on display. Congratulations to Chris Miller, who won the 18-hole competition, and to Maureen Appleyard, who took top honours in the 9-hole event. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the rich history and strong community spirit of Doncaster Golf Club. We look forward to welcoming our Past Captains back again next year.
