Donegal League Final Best of luck to Cathal Canning and his team as they face Ballybofey & Stranorlar in the first leg of the Paddy Carr Donegal League final this weekend. Portsalon have home advantage in the first leg, with play due to start from 2.00pm. All support welcome for the team as they bid for three-in-a-row in the Donegal League. Captain's Day Away Enda Cullen's Captain's away day will take place on Saturday 26th September in Ballyliffin Golf Club. The tee is booked from 08.30 to 14.30, if you wish to play or your fourball wishes to play please reply to this email with the names of the players and a contact number and your preferred tee-time. We will then contact you and confirm your allocated tee-time. The cost is €25pp. which includes a meal after your round of golf. Alternatively you can call the golf shop to book your time. Club Matchplay events Our various club matchplay events are now reaching the business end of the season. In the Scratch Matchplay, Kevin Hensey and Ryan McGettigan have booked their semi-final tussle following wins over Jack Friel and Shane Magee in the last-eight respectively, with Ryan even managing a hole-in-one in his quarter-final win! Pascal Cullen faces Chris Duffy, with David Bonner and Ciaran McFadden completing the quarter-final draw. In the Singles Matchplay, Sean Barrett awaits the winner of Davitt Walsh and Damion O'Donnell's quarter-final match in the first semi-final, while Alistair Rodger was the victor in a father/son quarter–final against Alfie Rodger and is now awaiting the winner of the quarter-final pairing that features Daniel Shields and James Comiskey. Three of the four semi-final pairings are revealed in the Doubles Matchplay event. Sean Barrett & Eamonn McConigley will face Alan O'Doherty and Dermot Shields in the first semi-final. Paul Gallagher and Paul Murray are also into the last four after defeating Mark & Johnny Gallagher and they will face the winners of the remaining quarter-final between Mark Cohen & Eunan McGarrigle and Kristofer McFadden & David Walsh.
