Dear Members, Good morning, as some of you may have known, I had a quick golf trip away in Spain from Wednesday last week, only to return to the club yesterday. Looking at the weather over there prior to leaving, it was still in the mid 30’s, sure as eggs is eggs our first-round last Thursday, the heavens opened with torrential rain, thunder and lighting, only to be called off the course after 3 holes. Play resumed after an hour and half in the clubhouse and the sun finally broke out. It was quite a delight to drive in yesterday to a course that is really coming back to life, some of our best golf is hopefully in front of us for a short period, warm days and green fairways, may it continue as long as possible. As we are halfway through the week I will give you all an extended version of upcoming events to encompass next week as well. Catering Corner Emma is in today, but goes on annual leave Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th Thomas is off today and covering the remainder of the week. Thomas will also be leaving us after his final shift on Sunday 27th. We wish him well in his new career direction. Competition Corner Wednesday 23rd – No scheduled event Thursday 24th – Retired Association of Golf Secretaries (RAGS) Golf Day 1st Tee Restriction at 1300 – 1345hrs and 1500-1545hrs. No general play restriction outside these hours. Friday 25th – 18-Hole Gents Stableford, No general play restriction. Saturday 26th – 18-Hole Mixed Stableford, No general play restriction. Sunday 27th – No Scheduled event. Monday 28th – Mixed Match v Worlington, followed by Bridge. 1st and 4th tee restrictions 0915– 0945hrs and 1115-1145hrs.. Priority to be afforded to the team players on the 10th and 13th tee for the 2nd nine. No general play restrictions. Tuesday 29th – Ladies Captains Day. Course Closed 1100hrs – 1500hrs. Due to reasons that cannot be disclosed at this time, under no circumstances can General play be on the course past 1100hrs. General play can commence after 1500hrs. Wednesday 30th – No scheduled event. Thursday 1st October – Ladies friendly away at Gog Magog. No general play restrictions. Friday 2nd – Flempton v Suffolk police. 1st and 4th Tee restrictions 1115-1145hrs and 1315-1345hrs.No other general play restrictions. Saturday 3rd - 18-Hole Mixed Stableford, No general play restriction. Sunday 4th – No Scheduled event.
