STUART'S GIFTS AND THANKS - Thanks to the help of great generosity from our members, we were able to gift Stuart McDonald four-ball vouchers for Royal Troon and Cruden Bay, 2027 membership, and a significant sum of cash. Stuart had the following words to say: Dear Members, Following my retirement as Club Manager at the end of August, I wanted to take this opportunity to say a very sincere thank you to all members for your kindness and support during my time at the Club. I genuinely loved being part of the club and above all, I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you. The chats, the banter, the stories and friendships made the role much more than simply a job - that is what I will remember the most! I was also extremely touched and grateful for the very generous collection and gifts presented to me. They were a wonderful surprise and an amazing reminder of the affection and goodwill that there is within the club. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed - it really does mean a lot to me. I would also like to wish my successor Jakob every success in the role and hope he enjoys the job as much as I did. I would also like to thank the Captain and Council and everyone involved in running this very special community-based golf club and offer my best wishes for the future. Although I have retired from the role, I certainly won't be disappearing completely as I am continuing membership and am sure I will see many familiar faces around the club and hope to be able to join some for a few rounds! With very best wishes to all, Stuart JUNIOR COACHING SESSIONS END FOR 2026 - Just like that, the main junior coaching programme has come to an end for the year. We now have a number of juniors who have handicaps and/or course experience, with 50 players taking part in our recent flag and stroke play competition! The ongoing support and understanding of our members is key to developing these young golfers, so it would be great to encourage and support junior members as we see them on the course. We would like to say a massive thanks to all coaches and volunteers for giving their time over the past 6 months. Without you, we wouldn't be able to run the classes, your enthusiasm (and patience!) is greatly appreciated. A specific thanks must go to Jon Walsh (Junior Convenor) who puts countless hours into making the junior section the best it can be. Jon organises the Thursday sessions to make sure every child is learning and enjoying the session, ensures they have the right equipment, and coordinates events galore so that they are all getting the chance to compete. His commitment is greatly appreciated by all those involved with the junior section at Dundas and we are glad to see the results of his hard work through the junior successes.
