On Friday 25 September, players enjoyed another excellent annual Bartlett Trophy match between Defence Munitions (DM) Gosport and the Mayor’s Team. The match got underway with Gosport Mayor Kirsten Bradley hitting the ceremonial first ball, setting the tone for a competitive and enjoyable day of golf. After some closely contested matches, the Mayor’s Team emerged victorious by 2½ to 1½, regaining the trophy for the first time since 2018. Following the golf, players and guests enjoyed a buffet. A special thank you goes to Lou for providing such an excellent spread, which was greatly appreciated by everyone. The event also supported the Mayor’s chosen charities, with the two teams raising a donation for Community Spirit and the Gosport Division RMVCC (Volunteer Cadet Corps). This generous contribution will help support the valuable work carried out by both organisations. Congratulations to the Mayor’s Team on their success, and many thanks to everyone who took part and helped make the day such an enjoyable occasion. We look forward to the next Bartlett Trophy match.
