On Saturday 26 September, more than 60 golfers took part in a highly successful Steve Fowler Charity Golf Day, organised by Keith Hiron and Malc Stubley. The competition, played as a shotgun start, was held in memory of Steve Fowler, a much-valued former member of the club. It was particularly fitting that Steve's sons, Paul and Neil, were able to take part in the day and join members in celebrating his memory. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of everyone involved, an impressive £1,800 was raised for Rowans Hospice. Funds were generated through raffle donations, auctioned items, and a wonderful gesture from the day's prize winners, who kindly donated their winnings back to the charity. Following the golf, players and guests enjoyed a buffet. A special thank you goes to Lou for providing such an excellent spread, which was greatly appreciated by everyone. Thanks also to the bar staff for their hard work throughout the day and for helping to make the event such a success. The day was a fantastic tribute to Steve and demonstrated the generosity and community spirit that make our club so special. A huge thank you to Keith and Malc for organising the event, to everyone who donated prizes and raffle items, and to all those who took part and supported this worthy cause. Well done to everyone involved in raising such a fantastic amount for Rowans Hospice.
