Dear Members As club members it is assumed that we all like to play in competitions . We run competitions at weekends for the members to have a competitive element to their golf. We charge a minimal fee of £2 per competition that can be paid to Danny in pro shop so there is a prize pot for each competition. The pot is split evenly between division 1 and division 2 so if you win you have credit in pro shop or behind the bar. Many members are playing in these competitions and are not paying the £2 meaning a very small pot at certain times. There seems no point winning a competition if you can’t win something. Saturday seems to be more popular than Sundays at present but we need members playing to participate in paying the entry fee. If this option is not taken we will consider not running competitions at weekends . This is not a route we wish to go down but if people are prepared to set competitions up and do work for the enjoyment of members we also need members to participate so that these efforts are worthwhile. Please support us as it would be a big shame to not run competitions at weekends or only on Saturdays which is currently supported better than Sundays. Regards Mark Nye,
