Another successful Pro Captain challenge year comes to an end. This year, Captain Cliffy and I played a record total of 21 matches, winning only 6 and losing 15. That doesn’t tell the whole story as our scoring average for the matches was pretty good but our opponents really seemed to lift their game this year! Saturday was the finals day and culmination of all the matches we’ve played. The A final was contested by those that played in the matches against us, with scores that they beat, or loss, to us by carrying over to the finals day score. Dave Punter & Ross Elliott along with Terry Brame & Richard Henwood were the joint leaders going in to finals day having both beaten us by 8 points in there matches in the summer. And it was Dave & Ross who won the event with a fantastic 44 points on finals day, plus the 8 that they beat us by, giving them a record total of 52 points, well done gents!! Terry and Richard managed to hold to 2nd beating Matt Alp & Andy Witthammes on count back. In the B final it was father and son duo of Josh Neal and his 9 year old son, Ralph, who won with, a best of the day fantastic 46 points!! Captain Cliffy and I managed to get a respectable 39 points, we finally “ham n egg” well, so only 4 pairs beat us in the beat Pro Captain sweep! Thanks to everyone who played and supported the Pro Shop this year! Massive thank you to Captain Cliffy for giving up his time to play all the matches, I loved your company, just not our golf at times!
