A strong finish from defending champion Andrew, closing with a five-under-par 67 to finish tied eighth at 12 under par.
Rounds of 68, 69 and 67 included 13 birdies and just one bogey across the three days. Andy finished in style with four birdies in his final five holes.
I texted Ella to see how he was playing on day two. She replied: “He’s playing so lovely. Hitting every fairway, no rogue balls! Just amazing scoring out here!”
That puts Andy’s performance into perspective—the standard of scoring was exceptional. He shared eighth place with Mikael Lundberg, David Drysdale and Scott Drummond, while winner Craig Farrelly finished at an outstanding 23 under par.
Well played, Andy—a very creditable defence of your title and plenty of good golf to take into the next event and still in 18 place in the order of merit.
