ON TOUR WITH ANDY
PORTUGAL LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP
A little late with this week's news! I've been feeling a little poorly this week, so apologies for missing my usual On Tour with Andy report on the opening day. We're starting with day two instead, and there's some good golf to catch up on! Round One – A steady start Andy opened with a solid two-under-par 70, giving himself a good platform to build on. Round Two – Moving up the leaderboard! A much better second round from Andy, returning an excellent four-under-par 68. Despite a bogey at the opening hole, Andy quickly got things moving with birdies at the 2nd and 4th, followed by two more at the 7th and 8th. Out in just 33 shots, three under par, Andy added another birdie on the back nine to finish with a lovely 68. After two rounds: 70 and 68, six under par and lying joint 9th! The leaderboard is looking interesting! Former Open Champion Paul Lawrie leads the Portugal Legends Championship at 11 under par, with Jean Hugo and Johan Edfors breathing down his neck, just one shot behind at 10 under. Mikael Lundberg sits fourth at eight under, while Andy is nicely placed in joint ninth at six under par, just five shots off the lead. It's shaping up to be an exciting final round, with plenty of experienced players chasing the title. Andy has played some lovely, steady golf over the opening two days, and that second-round 68 has put him right in the mix for another strong finish. With the leaders so close together, a really good final round could make a big difference to the final positions. Let's hope Andy continues to find those fairways and gives himself plenty of birdie opportunities. If a few more putts drop, there's every chance he can climb further up that leaderboard. Good luck in the final round, Andy. Keep it going! Steve
