LADIES AGM - On Monday the 26th, the Ladies section hosted their AGM at the Bowling club in South Queensferry. Congratulations to everyone who was presented with prizes. Unfortunately, this meant the end of Jayne McGill's time as Ladies Captain. Massive thanks to Jayne for her 2 years of excellent service, as she now passes on to her sister, Kathy Gold. WINTER MATS/DIVOT FILLING - At the start of November, we made winter mats compulsory when playing from the fairway (including chips/pitches from next to the green). On Monday, our team of divot-filling volunteers, led by our Greens Convenor Neil Davidson, put great effort into filling all divots on the course. Gary and Brian wanted to extend their gratitude to everyone involved, as this helps them maintain the fantastic condition of the course. Unfortunately, since Monday, we have continued to find a number of divots across the course. We ask that all members do their part to ensure that winter mats are being used, with a reminder that cost-price mats are available to purchase or hire from the club shop. NIGHT GOLF TRIAL - One of our members, Rhoda Whitton, launched a night golf trial for some of the ladies on the 20 October as the club looks to introduce more fun/social events. It was fantastic fun, with plenty of laughs, and is an event that we will look to bring to the wider club in 2027. If this is the type of event you would be interested in, please let Rhoda or myself know. CLUB SHOP RESTOCK - With Christmas round the corner, the club shop has just had a restock of club cleaners, towels and shoe bags. As well as all of the items you see in the shop, we are also able to offer customisation on colour, size and style. SCOTTISH GOLF MEDAL FINALS - Many congratulations to Colin McRoberts, Jack Fleming, Peter Jeffrey, Cathy Mackay, May Gray, and Laura McTeague who have all been put forward to compete in the Scottish Golf Medal Finals by being the top 3 male or female players returning the lowest aggregate of 3 net scores from the previous year’s club medal competitions. They now have the option to play in one of the 6 regional qualifying events with the leading 6 male and 6 female will qualify for the Grand Final, with 18 holes of stroke play being played over one day. Best of luck! LOST PROPERTY - A reminder that the lost property box is in the office, so if you ever believe you have lost something at the club, either drop me a message or pop in to have a look. COURSE RATINGS AND INFORMATION QR - Some of you may have noticed that we have a course ratings and information QR code next to the tee sheet. This shows the club's course ratings, handicap calculator, stroke allowance, map, and hole-by-hole guide. This can be particularly useful when guests and visitors are playing the course, so please feel free to use it or point it out to them when appropriate.
