Charity Golf Day
St Davids Hospice Donation
A charity golf day has once again raised valuable funds for a local hospice.
Employees from Hanson, British Gypsum, Vado Ltd and Velux Ltd held their Llandudno Cup charity golf day at North Wales Golf Club in support of St David’s Hospice.
The Llandudno Cup was inaugurated in 2008 by Les Lawrence, District Sales Manager, Hanson Cement and is held each year in June for customers, friends and colleagues from across the various building trades. Since its conception, it has raised over £17,000 for various charities including the local adult Hospice in Llandudno.
Many of the golfers that participate in the Llandudno Cup are also members of the Builders Merchant Golf Society who have also raised in excess £44,000 for charities from across the North West and North Wales.
Mr Lawrence, co-founder of the Builders Merchant Golf Society said “The Llandudno Cup continues to grow from strength to strength with all participants thoroughly enjoying the occasion where they all come together for such a worthy cause. Each year we aim to raise at least £1000 for St David’s Hospice and we are already making plans for next year. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped raise such a fantastic amount of money for St David’s.”
Kathryn Morgan-Jones, Corporate Fundraiser added “We’re extremely grateful to everyone involved with the Llandudno Cup Charity Golf Day for their ongoing support. The money they raise each year helps us to provide a high level of care to all our patients and their families. I would also like to thank the North Wales Golf Club for their continued support and for hosting this annual event.
